ITALIAN ICE CREAM

Hiya All

In Ireland we're having a Bank Holiday weekend. It means we don't have to go to work on Monday:-) wooohoo!!!! Happy days. It's getting dark really quick so it's a time for a comfort food. Today I have for ya really, really quick and so yummy recipe for Italian ice cream.

This is a great way of making ice cream at home without having to invest in an ice cream maker. They are rich and they have luxurious flavour. It's hard to resist them!

PREPARATION TIME: 5 MINUTES
COOKING TIME: 4-5 HOURS OF FREEZING TIME
SERVES: 6 (MAKES 1KG of ice cream

INGREDIENTS:
500ml double cream (I used this time fresh cream)
1 x 395 g tin of condensed milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 chocolate bar
Optional 50 g of coco powder

Whisk to soft peaks the double cream, condensed milk and vanilla
extract together which forms the base of any ice cream flavour you
want to make at home.  Do not over beat.

NOTE: this is the base for all Italian ice creams, so you can get
creative:-)

To make the ice creams less sweet I added tin of milk. (optional)

Then whip in the cocoa powder, or as I used in here chocolate.
And whisk it again. The chocolate bits will get smaller:-)

Place in a freezable dish and you can top your ice creams with big
chunks of chocolate or whatever you fancy

Then freeze it for minimum of 5 hours.
Well I tend to wait till the next day.

Hope you are going to love it as much as I do. Nom nom nom

Have a great weekend everyone
Ewelina

  17. Italian ice cream? Similar in texture to gelato? OR different because it has no eggs. I've always been so intimidated by trying to make homemade ice cream, I should really give it a try!
